My name is Dan Araquel. I've been playing guitar since I was 15 years old. I'm around 80 or 90 now and, over the years have had the good fortune to gig with some fun bands (which you've probably never heard of). This web-page is a collection of my musical interpretations (the way I hear it). As many guitar players know, along one's journey, he or she has had to overcome many hurdles in the pursuit learning and playing music competently. How someone hears music directly translates to how one ends up actually playing that piece of music... especially if (like in my case) you are not educated in ear training or music theory.
The way I would learn and play a piece of music early on, is quite different than I do today... for many reasons. The main point being... playing guitar for decades can be a wonderful evolution for those who stick with it. Many players out there know the pure joy of (finally) being able to play a piece of music as you hear it in your own head, be it your own music, or that written by others. Music is music. If you can get your head around it, then get your fingers on it... it's groovy baby. Let's Rock!
So the pandemic happened. It sucked, but here we are. I guess this section is post-pandemic shit.
Recent VideosWelp. I have been off of social media since 2012. Not sure if I plan to rejoin any time soon. Here are some old-timey videos from before electricity.
